Kathmandu,
December 15
The Parliament has deferred its meeting scheduled for Thursday by issuing a notice.
The notice states that the House has postponed the meeting scheduled for 11 am on Thursday due to some technical reasons. The next meeting will take place on December 19.
After registration of the government-sponsored Constitution Amendment Bill in the Parliament, opposition parties have been obstructing Parliament meetings under the leadership of the CPN-UML, the main opposition. A source informed that the House postponed the meeting realising that convening the same will be impossible without an all-party understanding.
A source close to Speaker Onsari Gharti expressed hope that major political parties will hold discussions and reach an understanding.
