Nepal’s remittance inflow has increased by 12.6 per cent in the first 11 months of the fiscal year 2020/21 that is ending today.
The Nepal Rastra Bank revealed statistics about the country’s economic indicators as of mid-June on Thursday. As per the central bank’s report, the country received Rs 870.94 billion in this period.
In the same period last year, the remittance inflow was down by 3.2 per cent.
Although the amount of remittance has grown up, the number of Nepalis receiving permits for foreign employment in the review period has decreased by a whopping 59.9 per cent. Last year, it was down by 31.1 per cent. The downfall is arguably attributed to the Covid-19 effects across the globe.
