The stock market continues to decline, with a noticeable drop in trading volume as well.
On Tuesday, the NEPSE index fell by 6.32 points, settling at 2,669 points. This follows a 12-point drop in the previous trading session. The market has been on a downward trend for the past five trading days, with trading volumes shrinking accordingly.
On Sunday, the total trading amount was Rs 7.46 billion, which decreased to Rs 5.62 billion on Monday and further declined to Rs 4.41 billion today.
Out of the traded companies, 85 saw their stock prices rise, 148 experienced declines, and 10 remained unchanged.
Among the sectors, Trade (0.30%), Microfinance (0.13%), Manufacturing (0.33%), and Hotels (0.28%) registered gains. However, other sectors faced losses, including Banking (0.15%), Development Bank (0.52%), Finance (0.71%), Hydropower (0.33%), Investment (0.79%), Life Insurance (1%), and Non-Life Insurance (0.19%).
