Kathmandu, April 9
The Supreme Court has scrapped a writ petition that demanded the Securities Board of Nepal (SEBON) stop preparations for the distribution of licences for new share brokers, stock exchanges and commodity exchanges.
A division bench of justices Anil Kumar Sinha and Shushma Lata Mathema on Sunday dismissed the petition filed by advocate Deepak Bikram Mishra.
Earlier, hearing the petition, the court had issued an interim order calling the share market regulator to halt the ongoing process. But with the petition itself getting dismissed, SEBON can resume the process.
