The eight franchises of the Nepal Premier League (NPL) have collectively announced a reward of Rs 1 million for the Nepali U-19 women’s cricket team, which made history by qualifying for the ICC U-19 Women’s T20 World Cup.
The NPL franchises decided to honour the team’s remarkable achievement by jointly contributing the amount as a gesture of appreciation. Earlier, the Cricket Association of Nepal (CAN) had announced an incentive of Rs 250,000 for each player of the team.
Additionally, the Madhesh Province government has pledged to honour players from the province with cash rewards for their role in securing World Cup qualification. Nepal secured their place in the tournament by defeating the UAE in a decisive match on Wednesday. The ICC U-19 Women’s T20 World Cup will take place in January next year.
