Kathmandu, November 16
Prime Minister and Chair of the CPN-Maoist Centre, Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’, held talks with CPN-UML Chair KP Sharma Oli on Constitution amendment at the Parliament building in New Baneshwor on Wednesday afternoon.
PM Prachanda, talking to the media after a 45-minute meeting, said: I had a discussion with UML Chair Oliji on Constitution amendment.
He described the talks as positive, claiming that Oli was positive on amendment.
Madheshi Morcha has given the Prachanda-led government 15 days to present a Constitution amendment proposal within 15 days. In the wake of this, PM Prachanda is intensifying talks with ruling coalition partner Nepali Congress and the main opposition UML, in a bid to reach an understanding on the issue.
In a bid to press the government to bring forth the amendment proposal, Madheshi Morha has been boycotting Parliament meetings.
