Design and display

Poco M4 Pro 5G has a build of a glass front, plastic back and a plastic frame. On the front of the phone resides a centred punch-hole display, similar to the one on its predecessor. On the back is where the major changes can be seen. There, the camera panel is accompanied together by the POCO branding in a huge black shape that pretty much covers the whole top area of the phone. This can be a topic for discussion while purchasing the phone.

However, the matte finish on the back looks pleasing. The phone weighs 195 grams and is 8.8mm thick. The phone has a side-mounted fingerprint sensor for security purposes. The phone also has an official IP53 rating for dust and splash resistance.

Poco M4 Pro 5G features a 6.6-inch IPS LCD display with a maximum resolution of 1,080*2,400 pixels. The display offers a refresh rate of 90Hz and can achieve a peak brightness of up to 450 nits while it has a touch sampling rate of 240Hz. The display gets protection from Corning Gorilla Glass 3.

Poco M4 Pro 5G features a dual camera on the rear and a single selfie shooter on the front. The 50MP main camera on the back is housed together with an 8MP, 119-degree FOV ultra-wide camera. The main camera can record videos in 1080p and up to 60fps but there is no EIS. There is a night mode feature on the camera for shooting in low light conditions but is supported by the main 50MP sensor only.

Performance and storage

Poco M4 Pro 5G runs on Android 11 with MIUI 12.5 on top. The phone is powered by a Mediatek Dimensity 810 5G (6nm) chipset while the graphics are handled by Mali-G57 MC2. This is a power-efficient chipset from its predecessor. The upgraded configuration on the phone should be able to deliver substantial improvements in performance.

The phone gets a UFS 2.2 64GB or 128GB internal storage coupled up with either 4GB or 6GB of LPDDR4X RAM. The internal storage of the phone can be expanded up to 1TB with a microSDXC card.

Poco M4 Pro 5G has a 5,000mAh non-removable li-po battery that provides power to the phone. This massive battery can support a 33W fast charger and can get fully charged in just 59 minutes. This battery backup can provide power to the phone for a day or two and when low on power, it just gets charged for an hour and you should be good for another two days.

The phone supports a dual 5G network and dual-band Wifi. The phone also has Bluetooth 5.1 for pairing with other wireless devices. The phone supports FM Radio and has an infrared port as well. The phone uses a USB Type-C 2.0 data cable for connecting with other devices. As for the audio, there are dual stereo speakers on the device and also a 3.5mm headphone jack.

The starting price of the Poco M4 Pro 5G is expected to be Rs 25,000.
