Prince Harry arriving on March 19, itineary includes trekking, meeting quake victims

Prince Harry is arriving in Nepal on a five-day visit a day ahead of the schedule –n on March 19.

The British Embassy in Nepal informed that Harry will visit Nepal on March 19-23.

Prince Harry will take part in a reception hosted by Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Foreign Affairs Kamal Thapa on March 19. He will also hold talks with Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli.

A day later, he will call on President Bidhya Bhandari at Sheetal Niwas. The same day, he will visit the Patan Durbar Square, which suffered damage in last year’s quakes. He will visit Bhaktapur to acquire information on Nepal Red Cross Society’s emergency relief. The fifth in line to the British throne will also make it to the makeshift camps where earthquake victims are putting up.

 

On March 21, Harry will visit Bardiya national park which, together with the Banke national park, forms the largest tiger conservation area in Asia. He will engage in rafting in the Khaurah River and meet locals.

Harry will also visit Pokhara and go for a trek. In Pokhara, he will meet quake-affected Gurkha families, according to the embassy.

On the last day of his visit, Harry, together with President Bhandari, will inaugurate the Nepal Girls’ Summit. The same day, he will visit Sanothimi and observe the Sanothimi technical school. He will also visit Kanti Children’s Hospital. At the end of his visit, Harry will take part in a reception that the embassy will organise in his honour. Harry will address the programme.
