The Madhesh Province government has declared a public holiday today on the occasion of the grand Gadhimai Mela held in Bariyarpur, Bara.
Local schools have remained closed since Friday in observance of the event. The Gadhimai Mela, held every five years, attracts a massive number of devotees. Currently, Bariyarpur is bustling with pilgrims seeking blessings.
To ensure convenience for visitors, arrangements have been made for security personnel, volunteers, drinking water, electricity, restrooms, parking facilities, and CCTV cameras.
