The Supreme Court has decided to curtail its regular services for a time being owing to the rising number of Covid-19 cases in the country.

A meeting of the court’s justices decided to provide only six types of services from tomorrow until February 1.

During this period, the court will hear cases related to the pandemic and other cases of urgent nature. Likewise, the hearing of habeas corpus cases will continue.

Similarly, applications related to case withdrawal, settlement, and applications of suspects of criminal cases who are already behind bars will also be heard.

The court says other high and district courts and other tribunals might make a similar decision considering the local context.
