Kathmandu, May 26
Transport entrepreneurs enforcing a transport strike against the government decision to hike fine for traffic rule violations vandalised three vehicles on Thursday. They smashed the taxi numbered Ba 1 Ja 1599 at Sukedhara, the Tata Sumo jeep numbered Na 1 Ja 8413 in Teku and the taxi numbered Ba 2 Ja 2000 at Teku, according to police.
Police also detained 157 people enforcing a transport strike at Gaushala and Balaju in Kathmandu and different parts of Lalitpur.
The transport strike has affected members of the public, forcing them to head to their destinations on foot. Private vehicles are operating smoothly, Traffic Police said.
