Tribhuvan International Airport (TIA) recorded significant air traffic in November 2024, with a total of 851,025 passengers and 12,525 flight movements. The Civil Aviation Office released these figures on Wednesday, highlighting the airport’s growing role as a major hub for both domestic and international travel.
Out of the total passenger count, 429,847 passengers traveled on international flights. Of these, 199,495 passengers arrived in Nepal, while 229,763 departed. The international sector also accounted for 2,648 flight movements throughout the month.
On the domestic front, passenger traffic reached 402,178. This included 219,430 arrivals recorded from 4,933 landings and 201,748 departures from 4,944 take-offs. Domestic flight operations accounted for a total of 9,877 movements in November.
These figures demonstrate the sustained growth of air travel in Nepal, with TIA managing an average of over 28,000 passengers and 417 flights daily during the month. The increasing demand for air connectivity emphasises the need for ongoing infrastructure development and enhanced service capacity at Nepal’s only international airport.
