Police have arrested two individuals with 558 grams of gold from Sanga Chowk in Banepa Municipality-13, Kavre.
The suspects have been identified as 38-year-old Basant Lama of Roshi Rural Municipality-9 and 29-year-old Amrit Shrestha of Manthali Municipality-1, Ramechhap. They were apprehended on Sunday evening by a team from the District Police Office, Kavre.
The gold was discovered concealed in a plastic bag under a car seat during a routine inspection of a vehicle (license plate BAB 8608) traveling from Kathmandu to Banepa. Both the driver, Basant, and passenger, Amrit, were taken into custody along with the gold.
