Saptari, February 10
CPN(Maoist) leader Matrika Yadav on Wednesday announced a separate movement in the southern plains, accusing the United Democratic Madheshi Front of giving up its stir for petty gains and falling prey to conspiracies. The announcement comes days after lull in UDMF’s protests.
Yadav announced his party’s movement at a press conference in Saptari district headquarters Rajbiraj. Also coordinator of the Madheshi national movement committee, Yadav charged UDMF with weakening its Madhesh movement in collusion with reactionary rulers. By calling off the movement without consulting other forces involved in the same, the UDMF has disrespected the martyrs and cheated oppressed Madheshi communities, he said.
The committee under Yadav plans to organise different protests from February 13 till April 3. By February 13, the committee plans to organise and reorganise district commitees in all districts. On February 15, the committee will organise protests in all districts.
On February 17, it will organise all-party interactions in these districts. While on February 20, it will organise protests in all electoral constituencies of Madhesh. A day later, it will organise programmes coinciding with World Mother Tongue Day in Rajbiraj, Janakpur and Birgunj. On February 22, it will organise an interaction in Kathmandu. While on February 24, it will organise a mass meeting in Rangeli of Morang and stage a protest along the East-West Highway on March 5. It will organise a political conference in Saptari on April 1-3.
