Kathmandu, September 22
President Bidhya Bhandari said on Thursday that the media has a vital role to play in moving the country forward. At the same time, she stressed the need to make journalism responsible and dignified.
Addressing a function organised to mark the 47th anniversary of Press Council Nepal, President Bhandari stressed the need to increase public trust towards journalism by making the profession more responsible.
Bhandari lauded journalists for playing an important role in social transformation. On the occasion, Bhandari also gave away Press Council awards to mediapersons.
