Pokhara, December 8
Naya Shakti Nepal coordinator Baburam Bhattarai came under a shoe attack on Thursday as the former Maoist leader attended a programme at a college in Pokhara.
Bhattarai was attending a welcome programme for new students at the Prithivi Narayan Campus when Sanjeev Bhattarai, an MA Economics student at the college, threw a shoe at him.
Bhattarai was seated on the stage and the attacker was in the audience. The shoe landed in front of Bhattarai. Police have detained the attacker.
