Kathmandu, December 14
Nepal’s Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal, who led a decade-long Maoist insurgency against the state to ‘establish a proletarian state’, says he doesn’t have anything valuable in his name.
Dahal, whose asset details were made public by the PMO earlier today, says his wife own 1 kattha (0.084 acres) of land in Chitwan, and has three tolas (35 gm) of gold with her. Both the land and the gold were given to her by his father, he has said.
The government made public the asset details of the Prime Minister and other ministers following a Cabinet decision earlier this week.
Nepal’s former Prime Minister Sushil Koirala, who was the country’s chief executive between February 2014 and October 2015, had been touted as the poorest Prime Minister in the world after his asset details said the only things he owned were three mobile phones.
