Kathmandu, February 13
Fresh accounts of the torching of the office vehicle of Tribhuvan University Registrar Sudha Tripathi at Shankhamul have come to the fore.
Tripathi told Onlinekhbar that two youths intercepted the vehicle, took her and her driver out, torched the vehicle and fled.
Tripathi said she had been receiving threats related to (upcoming) Free Student Union elections. To avoid dangerous situations, she had switched the route and was heading to her office in Kirtipur by the side of the UN Park.
She said: Outside the UN Park, the youths stopped the vehicle, opened the car’s door, pulled me and the driver out. After that, they torched the car and fled.
