Chairperson and members of the Constituency Delineation Commission on Sunday took the oath of office and secrecy.
The government on Thursday had formed the five-member Commission and mandated it to define 165 constituencies for federal and 330 ones for provincial elections within 21 days from beginning the task.
The Commission’s Chair Kamal Narayan Das was sworn in by Chief Justice Gopal Parajuli at a function organised today. Subsequently, Das had administered the oath to other members.
Commission member Madhav Adhikari says they will begin the assignment after the government will provide them with required staff.
He is confident that the Commission will be submit its report by the deadline.
Meanwhile, the government decided to establish the Commission’s office at the building of National Reconstruction Authority’s building in Singhadarbar.
