Kathmandu, May 28
Three leaders and cadres of Netra Bikram Chand ‘Biplav’-led Maoist party have said they quit the party.
Shankar Adhikari, Sanjeev Karki and Dev Raj Ghimire said they left the party and live a simple life, according to Lalitpur Chief District Officer Prem Raj Joshi.
They were arrested along with a senior leader of the party, Hemanta Prakash Oli, in March. The Lalitpur District Court had released them on bail on Friday.
Following the release, the trio came to the District Administration Office and gave a letter stating they were no longer members of the party, which the government banned following some of its violent activities, CDO Joshi informs.
Adhikari is an ex husband of incumbent Water Supply Minister Bina Magar.
