A four-year-old child has been found murdered after rape in Birgunj, a district neighbouring India in southern Nepal.
The girl from Chhapkaiya, Birgunj metropolitan city-2 of the Parsa district, was missing since Thursday last week. The family searched for her, but could not find her.
The next day, the family filed a complaint with the police, who immediately launched a search operation. In the meantime, a 12-year-old boy in the neighbourhood informed his family members that he saw the missing child’s body in a bush.
Meanwhile, police have arrested four persons for their alleged involvement. One of them is the minor who informed the family of the whereabouts of the victim’s body. Police Inspector Bishal Malla says three other arrestees are between 17 and 19 years.
The District Police Office says it has received an order from the District Court to keep them in custody for five days for an investigation.
