The CPN-Unified Socialist has appointed Ghanashyam Bhusal as the general secretary of the party.
Incumbent general secretary Beduram Bhusal has been promoted to one of the many vice-chairpersons of the party.
A meeting of the party central secretariat on Sunday made the decision, according to the party’s deputy general secretary Jagannath Khatiwada.
Bhusal joined the CPN-Unified Socialist in January 2023.
Bhusal left the CPN-UML before the November 2022 elections. Following his exit from the UML, he contested the elections independently with the support of the alliance of the Nepali Congress, CPN-Maoist Centre and Unified Socialist but lost.
