Chitwan, April 17
Rastriya Swatantra Party chairman Rabi Lamichhane’s driver Dil Bahadur Thapa aka Shambhu has sustained critical injuries after falling off the roof of a building in Bharatpur of Chitwan in the wee hours of Monday.
Thapa is currently in Chitwan to campaign for Lamichhane for the by-election in Chitwan 2 scheduled to be held coming Sunday.
Thapa (39), a resident of the Bahrabise municipality-3 of the Sindhupalchok district, was found lying on the ground after falling off the house at around 4 am today, according to sources. With critical injuries on his head and one leg, he is undergoing treatment at the College of Medical Sciences in Bharatpur.
Thapa and Kaluram Rajbanshi, the driver for RSP general secretary Mukul Dhakal, were asleep on the rooftop of a house last night.
Police are looking into the case.
