Kathmandu, August 23
The parliamentary investigation committee on the misuse of cooperative funds has summoned Rabi Lamichhane, Chairperson of the Rastriya Swatantra Party and former Home Minister, for questioning today.
Committee Chair Surya Thapa informed that Lamichhane, who is also a former executive director of Gorkha Media Network Pvt Ltd, has been called in for questioning at 2 pm today.
Before Lamichhane, the committee has also summoned Chhabilal Joshi, the operator of Gorkha Media Network, for questioning at 11 am today, according to Chair Thapa.
The investigation into the misuse of cooperative funds was initiated by the Parliament on May 29, led by UML MP Thapa.
The seven-member committee includes Ishwari Devi Neupane and Badri Prasad Pandey from the Nepali Congress; Surya Thapa and Sarita Bhusal from the CPN-UML; Lekhnath Dahal from the Maoist Center, Shishir Khanal from the Rastriya Swatantra Party, and Dhruv Bahadur Pradhan from Rastriya Prajatantra Party (RPP).
The committee’s three-month term will end on September 6.
