Nabil Bank raises financial awareness among Nepali workers in Qatar

Kathmandu, February 4

Nabil Bank organised a financial awareness program in Qatar, targeting Nepali migrant workers to promote secure banking and remittance practices. According to a press statement released by Nabil Bank, the event, held at the Radisson Blu Hotel under the title ‘Ghar Ta Nepal,’ saw participation from over 100 Nepali workers.

In collaboration with Nabil Investment Banking Limited and Nabil Stock Dealer Limited, the program covered remittances, deposits, digital banking, loans, and investments. Attendees were introduced to the ‘Nabil Skilled Migrant Entrepreneurial Loan,’ aimed at helping returning migrant workers establish businesses. The interactive session also emphasised financial literacy, savings, and investment strategies.

It adds that Nepali Ambassador to Qatar, Ramesh Chandra Paudel, urged migrant workers to send money through official banking channels, stating it strengthens Nepal’s economy and safeguards their earnings. Nabil Bank CEO, Gyanendra Prasad Dhungana, highlighted the significant role of Nepali workers in both Nepal and Qatar’s economies and emphasized the bank’s efforts to enhance digital banking access.

The event, supported by the Nepal Business Association in Qatar and NRNA Qatar, concluded with a stand-up comedy performance by Suman Kaki. Nabil Bank continues to facilitate remittance services, ensuring quick transactions to Nepal through 20,000 agents and digital banking solutions.
