The Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) has a new leader, as the government appointed Chudamani Chapagain as its Chief Executive Officer (CEO) on Monday.
The decision was made during a Cabinet meeting, a government minister confirmed. Chapagain, a seasoned banking professional from Jhapa, has spent years working in Sanima Bank and currently serves as the Deputy General Manager of Sanima Reliance Life Insurance.
His appointment comes after a controversy surrounding Narad Kumar Luintel, who was initially selected for the role. However, his appointment was not validated by the Chief Secretary, reportedly due to concerns over his background in the tourism industry rather than the financial sector.
