Kathmandu, February 8
The Teachers Service Commission has received 240,452 applications for 17,233 vacant government teacher positions.
The commission’s spokesperson Sudarshan Marahattha says 36,582 people applied for 1,452 secondary teachers. Likewise, 88,519 candidates applied for 2,598 vacant positions at the lower secondary level.
Similarly, 115,351 people applied for 13,093 vacant primary teacher positions.
The highest number of applications have been received from Province 1 whereas the least from Karnali.
The applicants will take written tests in late March and early April. If the recruitment plan is effectively implemented, the new batch of teachers will be recruited by October, which will be mid of the next school year.
