Kathmandu, November 13
Tribhuvan University has appointed Keshav Prasad Singh as the dean of its Institute of Medicine.
TU Vice-chancellor Tirtha Khaniya said they made the appointment based on recommendations from a dean search committee.
After accepting the appointment letter, Singh said he will move the IOM ahead by taking all sides into confidence.
The dean’s position had been lying vacant for nine years. Dr Govinda KC, who has been waging a movement for reforms in the medical sector, had given the government and the TU till 2 pm on Sunday for making appointment in the vacant position.
The committee had recommended the names of JP Agrawal, Singh and Dr Jyoti Sharma for the post.
Dr KC has been demanding appointment in the post on the basis of seniority. He had forwarded the name of Dr Agrawal for the position.
