Kathmandu Valley Traffic Police Office took action against 149 drivers who were driving under the influence of drugs over the past 11 months.
The drivers who were driving under the influence of drugs were taken into custody and necessary action was taken against them, said spokesperson of Kathmandu Valley Traffic Police Office, SSP Rajendra Prasad Bhatta.
The office had, with the technical support of Nepal Police Hospital and Narcotics Control Bureau, conducted a special drive to check drivers for drug abuse at various locations in Kathmandu valley.
Most of those arrested were public vehicle drivers, said SSP Bhatta who said this was a serious offence.
