Kathmandu, March 7
The government has signed an agreement with protesting relief quota and preprimary teachers, ending the protest that continued for few days.
The two sides signed the three-point deal after a meeting held at the Ministry of Education, Science and Technology on Wednesday evening.
The government has agreed to let teachers appointed under the relief quota and preprimary facilitators to attend open and internal examinations for the permanent status for one time. The agreement mentions that the age ceiling will not apply to these cases.
Likewise, the government has agreed to bear the cost of treatment of those injured during the recent demonstrations.
In response, the teachers agreed to end the protest programmes.
Earlier, teaching learning activities across the country were disturbed due to the programmes.
