Kathmandu, June 24
Toilets at government offices are stinking terribly, it appears.
These days, a large number of people are complaining with Hello Sarkar, the government hotline, that these offices stink because their toilets stink. The complainants have pointed that the foul smell is preventing them from entering offices.
A service-seeker, who visited the Ministry of Forests last week, complained thus: Maybe, employees there are used to working in that stinking environment (but service seekers are not).
The individual then called the government to provide services in a stink-free environment.
Most of the complaints related to the ministry and its subordinate offices (received between mid-May and mid-June) are about foul smell emanating from their toilets.
Pradhyumna Upadhyaya, under-secretary at Hello Sarkar, told Onlinekhabar the hotline’s central unit has seen a surge in the number of complaints about stinking toilets at government offices and hospitals.
Hello Sarkar has so far received around 46,000 complaints related to government employees’ performance.
