Kathmandu, December 26
Inspector General of Nepal Police Upendra Kanta Aryal said on Monday that Nepal Police should be able to win hearts and minds.
People take police as a source of fear, Aryal noted, adding that the force should be able to win the trust of the Nepali people.
He said this while inaugurating the building of Metropolitan Police Sector at Mangal Bazaar in Lalitpur. Aryal said police will be able to maintain law and order only after winning the trust of the public. The sector was set up as part of an effort to make crime investigation more effective.
