Kathmandu, November 3
Indian President Pranab Mukherjee, who is on a three-day visit, has welcomed the new constitution in Nepal.
Mukherjee, who met his Nepali counterpart Bidya Devi Bhandari on Wednesday, is learnt to have expressed happiness over the promulgation of the new constitution in Nepal.
The President congratulated Bhandari and the Nepali people for promulgating the new constitution, a Sheetal Niwas source told Onlinekhabar.
Mukherjee also extended his invitation to Bhandari to visit India, the President’s personal secretary Bhesraj Adhikari told mediapersons.
Following the meeting, Mukherjee held talks with leaders of various political parties at reception at the Indian Embassy. Former Prime Minister Sherbahadur Deuba, UML leaders Subas Nembang and former chief executive Khilraj Regmi were present during the occasion.
Mukherjee also met VP Nanda Bahadur Pun.
