Kathmandu, October 12
Jamuna Gurung, the wife of outgoing president of the Non-Resident Nepalis Association International Coordination Council Shesh Ghale, has announced her candidature for the presidency of global organisation of Nepali diaspora.
The 8th global convention and general assembly beginning in Kathmandu on Saturday will elect the new leadership.
Gurung announced the candidacy amidst a press meet organised in Kathmandu today. She is one of the richest women of Australia.
“Considering requests from delegates who have come here from around the world and the need to continue the trust and expectations major stakeholders of the NRNA have from me,” Gurung said, “I have decided to file my candidacy for the president.”
She said if elected, she would ensure successful implementation of the Vision 2020 and Beyond and timely completion of mega projects.
