The main opposition party has called on the government to make relief distribution and rehabilitation programmes launched for survivors of recent floods and landslides effective.
Issuing a press statement, the chief whip of Nepali Congress parliamentary party, Bal Krishna Khand, urged the government to make the system effective so that the real needy get the benefits.
The party has warned that a failure to manage the affected population well may give rise to various epidemics and they may cause further losses. Therefore, the party has told the government to take measures to prevent epidemics.
Earlier, the party had decided to monitor the government response to the disasters.
