Kathmandu, June 3
On Monday, the NEPSE stock market index fell by 3.97 points, bringing it down to 2079 points. This decline also led to a reduction in the transaction amount, with a total of Rs 4 billion traded throughout the day compared to Rs 4.31 billion the previous day. While the prices of 110 companies increased, 129 saw a decrease, and 8 remained stable.
All sector indices decreased except for microfinance, which saw a notable increase of 2.43 per cent (106 points). Specifically, the banking sector decreased by 8 points, development banks by 12 points, hotel and tourism by 45 points, finance by 0.06 points, hydropower by 3 points, life insurance by 20 points, products by 69 points, non-life insurance by 71 points, others by 6 points, and the business group by 1 point.
Buddhabhumi Hydropower experienced the highest price increase, rising by 9.66 per cent. Other significant gainers included Himalayan Microfinance with a 6.9 per cent increase, National Microfinance by 6 per cent, and Global IME Microfinance by 6 per cent.
