NEPSE: Stock market transactions surpass Rs 12 billion, reaching 35-month high

The Nepal Stock Exchange NEPSE recorded a remarkable transaction amount of Rs 12.05 billion on Wednesday, marking the highest volume of trade in the past 35 months. This significant milestone comes after a previous high of Rs 13.16 billion recorded on September 1, 2021.

The NEPSE index also showed robust growth, rising by 54.04 points from the previous day to close at 2364, the highest level since May 11, 2022. The market saw a broad-based rally, with prices of 204 companies increasing, 32 declining, and 6 remaining unchanged.

Banking increased by 2.08 per cent, Development Bank by 4.09 per cent, Finance by 5.50 per cent, Hotels and Tourism by 5.55 per cent, Hydropower by 1.71 per cent, Investment by 1.53 per cent, Life Insurance by 2.18 per cent, Manufacturing by 3.02 per cent, Microfinance by 1.84 per cent, Non-life Insurance by 3.34 per cent, Others by 1.36 per cent, and Trade Group by 7.3 per cent.

The prices of Central Finance, Singati Hydro, Ankhu Khola Hydropower, and Mandakini Hydropower increased by 10 per cent. CEBD Hydropower increased by 9.8 per cent, Aarambha Chautari Microfinance by 9.7 per cent, Multipurpose Finance by 8.9 per cent, Salt Trading by 8.1 per cent, and ICFC Finance by 8.1 per cent.

Based on the transaction amount, Singati Hydropower, NRN Infrastructure, Sonapur Cement, Himal Dolakha Hydropower, and Arun Valley Hydropower were the top performers.
