Kathmandu, June 25
A Nepal Police inspector has been arrested for his alleged involvement in the activities that amount to drug smuggling, in Kathmandu on Thursday.
Rudra Shahi has been arrested, informs the Narcotics Control Bureau of Nepal Police. Shahi was working at the Metropolitan Police Range, Jawalakhel, Lalitpur.
During an operation at Pepsicola of Kathmandu yesterday, police had confiscated over 600 bottles of corex, a controlled drug. Based on the information provided by the people arrested yesterday, Shahi was also arrested, according to the bureau.
SSP Tek Prasad Rai, the chief of the Metropolitan Police Circle, says he received a request from the Narcotics Control Bureau to send Shahi there for some investigation.
