‘Sirjana 2024: Threads of Simultaneity’ on display

The annual art exhibition by Sirjana College of Fine Arts titled ‘Sirjana 2024: Threads of Simultaneity’ is on display at Nepal Art Council, Baber Mahal. It kicked off on June 16 and is curated by Saroj Bajracharya.

The exhibition features veteran artists Shashi Bikram Shah, Batsa Gopal Vaidya, Madan Chitrakar, and Krishna Manandhar among others. The exhibition has been a regular event and an integral part of the college’s annual academic calendar since 2018.

In the exhibition, these four artists have been showcased under the special segment titled Masterful Perspectives: the Epitome of Timelessness.

According to the Principal of Sirjana College of Fine Arts, Bal Krishna Ranjit as a token of respect for their valuable roles, there is this special segment for the eminent artists. “Coincidentally, the four artists have remained privileged to have their higher art education in the famed Sir J J School of Art in India,” he adds, “Each of them has made a significant contribution not only to the Sirjana College of Fine Arts but honestly speaking, to the entire Art of Nepal.”

In the exhibition, there are a total of 29 participating artists—Shyam Lal Shrestha, Radheshyam Mulmi, Sharada Man Shrestha, Sharad Ranjit, Gautam Manandhar, Navindra Man Rajbhandari, Lok Chitrakar, Sunil Ranjit, Devina Malla, Sushma Shakya, Dewendra Pandey, Bhawana Manandhar, Samjhana Rajbhandari, Chandra Shyam Dangol, Manish Lal Shrestha, Saurganga Darshandhari, Krishna Gopal Shrestha, Mukesh Shrestha, Kuldip Jung Bahadur Gurung, Bijaya Maharjan, Suraj Muni Shakya, Manoj Shakya Panju, Sugat Shakya, Nipurna Bajracharya and Saugat Shrestha— who are associated with the college.

One can witness masterpieces reflecting diverse thoughts and expressions. The exhibition features paintings, sculptures, pop-up paper art, installations, photographs and more.

The exhibition continues till June 21.
