Kathmandu, August 5
The government is announcing vacancies for temporary police for the upcoming federal and provincial elections scheduled for November 20.
Those who served in the role during the local elections held in May will be given first priority, informs Nepal Police.
Every election, the government appoints temporary police as the government does not have enough security forces to conduct the elections safely.
Nepal Police spokesperson Tek Prasad Rai says the police organisation is making a special plan keeping in mind the elections.
Once the plan is approved by the Central Security Committee, the police will start the hiring process.
During the local elections, around 100,000 temporary cops were hired out of nearly 300,000 applicants.
