Kathmandu, February 15
Three major political parties have agreed on conducting Free Student Union elections on schedule.
During the Wednesday morning meeting at Prime Minister’s official residence in Baluwatar, PM and CPN-Maoist Centre Chair Prachanda, Nepali Congress President Sher Bahadur Deuba and CPN-UML Chair KP Sharma Oli stressed that FSU elections take place on February 26 itself.
Chair of the Centre-aligned ANNISU-R, Narendra Neupane, told Onlinekhabar after the meeting: Internal schedule has suffered a bit. The university (Tribhuvan University) will adjust this, but we have reached an understanding on conducting FSU elections on schedule.
At the meeting, Deuba and Oli also highlighted the need to conduct elections on schedule.
It should be noted that the Biplav-led CPN-Maoist has padlocked different campuses in its bid to obstruct FSU polls scheduled for February 26.
