Gorkha, February 27
A bomb went off at Dravya Shah Multiple Campus in Laxmi Bazaar, Gorkha municipality-8, on Monday.
According to police, the explosion occurred at the Library building of the campus. Police inspector Maheshwar Upadhyaya said based on evidence collected from the site, they suspect detonation of a crude bomb.
A further investigation into the case is underway, police said. Janak Raj Pandey, superintendent of police at Gorkha district police office, said they have mobilised additional police personnel at the incident site.
Meanwhile, the lockout at Gorkha Campus continues. ANNISU-R had locked the campus, dissatisfied with registration of candidacies for Free Student Union elections in the campus after a dispute with the Nepal Student Union. Yadu Adhikari, election officer at the campus, said efforts are on to make the two sides reach a deal.
