Kathmandu, December 8
The Supreme Court has summoned Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal and Speaker Onsari Gharti to discuss the government’s proposal to amend the constitution, recently tabled in Parliament.
The court, responding to writ petition against the government’s draft proposal to revise provincial boundaries, has said no sufficient ground has been found to issue a stay on the amendment bid.
Justice Jagadish Prasad Sharma’s bench has summoned Dahal and Gharti, to court on December 20 to discuss the issue; it will then decide whether a stay order, as demanded by the petitioners, would be necessary.
