Kathmandu, May 11
An Indian Air Force aircraft has become the first international aircraft to land at the newly constructed Gautam Buddha International Airport in Bhairahawa of Lumbini on Wednesday morning.
The airport is waiting to be officially inaugurated on May 16.
But, the aircraft came to Bhairahawa today itself to manage security arrangements for the scheduled visit of Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi, according to the airport’s spokesperson Shyam Kishor Shah.
Shah says the Indian Air aircraft will leave some security officials in Bhairahawa and return to Delhi today itself.
