Kathmandu, July 10
The Naubise-Malekhu road section on the Prithvi Highway will be closed for 5 hours each night for 15 days starting today, according to a notice issued by the Nagdhunga-Muglin Road Project (Eastern Section).
The closure, which will be in effect from 10 pm to 3 am, will last from Asar 26 to Shrawan 9. This measure is necessary to allow for structural work on the bridges at Ganesh Khola, Dangdung Khola, Kheste Khola, and Pokhare Khola within the road section.
Senior Division Engineer Ishwar Bahadur Rijal of the Nagdhunga-Muglin Road Project (Eastern Section) explained that the nighttime closure is intended to mitigate risks associated with lifting and placing bridge beams using cranes.
“Given the heavy traffic during the daytime, we have scheduled the work for the night, closing the road for five hours to ensure safety and efficiency,” Rijal stated.
The District Police Office Dhading, represented by spokesperson and DSP Makendra Kumar Mishra, announced that while the road will be closed to all vehicles, exceptions will be made for essential services such as ambulances, security agencies, and fire trucks.
Authorities have advised motorists to use the Galchi-Bidur-Chahre-Tokha road as an alternative route during the closure period.
