Kathmandu, January 19
The government-run power distribution monopoly and regulator, Nepal Electricity Authority, has introduced a new rule that allows private individuals as well as companies and offices to install their own charging stations inside their property from now onwards.
The authority says it will provide a different subscription for this purpose. The electricity will be provided in the nighttime and different tariffs will be applied. Different rates have been set for different hours and different seasons.
The fees are a bit higher than those applied to charging at public charging stations.
Individuals, companies or organisations receiving such service are required to obey directives of the government from time to time.
Meanwhile, the authority has also introduced a new rule about requirements for private and public charging stations.
