Experience the Mahabharata anew: Rasa Lila exhibition kicks off in Kathmandu

Rasa Lila

Kathmandu, July 21

Rasa Lila: The Divine Dance, a multi-media exhibition that features contemporary narratives on the Mahabharata, connecting the ancient text with modern life, kicks off on Saturday at Nepal Art Council, Babarmahal, Kathmandu.

“The main idea behind the exhibition is to use stories and texts from Vedic philosophy to create a body of work which—through symbols and mediums—invites viewers to reorient themselves with lores from their childhood and become inspired to apply their essence to our lives,” says artist Priyam Pradhan.

The exhibition features sculptural installations, paintings, textiles, music and a short film.

Along with Pradhan, other artists whose works have been featured in the exhibition are Binit Maharjan, Julian Shakya, Shristika Yonzon, Smarika Phuyal, Shubi Lama, Urza Acharya and Utsab B.S Pradhan.

Rasa Lila: The Divine Dance, will run through August 3, every day from 10 am to 6 pm, at Nepal Art Council, Babarmahal, Kathmandu.
