Indian police have rescued seven Nepali children from the suspected child traffickers’ clutches in Lucknow, the capital of Uttar Pradesh, India.
The Anti-Human Trafficking Unit (AHTU) of Indian police rescued them among 11 children, informs AHTU’s Raxaul in-charge Manoj Kumar Sharma.
“We have been successful in rescuing the boys aged 10-12 during our raid on a public bus to Delhi from Patna,” Sharma says, “They were meant to be forced to work for up to 16 hours every day at a Delhi-based factory, but the children were not known of this.”
Police also arrested six persons allegedly involved in child trafficking. The procedure to take action against them has already started.
The rescued children are safe in Lucknow now.
