Cabinet’s decision to remove Kulman Ghising awaits certification

Kathmandu, March 25

The Cabinet’s decision to dismiss Nepal Electricity Authority (NEA) Executive Director Kulman Ghising and appoint Hitendra Dev Shakya as his replacement has yet to be certified.

As the decision made on Monday evening has not been certified by the Chief Secretary, Ghising has not received an official dismissal letter, nor has Shakya received his appointment letter.

A government official told Onlinekhabar that the Cabinet’s decision must be certified by the Chief Secretary and forwarded to the ministry before it can be implemented. However, the delay in certification has prevented the issuance of both letters.

Despite not receiving a formal dismissal letter, Ghising did not report to the NEA office on Tuesday.
