MP collapses during National Assembly session, undergoing treatment

Kathmandu, February 2

A Nepali Congress MP collapsed during a National Assembly session due to high blood pressure. According to sources from the Federal Parliament Secretariat, MP Narayan Dutta Bhatt fainted while attending the session.

Bhatt, who suffers from high blood pressure and diabetes, had registered his name to speak in today’s meeting.

Following his health issue, National Assembly Chair Narayan Prasad Dahal allotted speaking time to Congress MP Bishnu Kumari Sapkota instead. “As Honorable Narayan Dutta Bhatt is unwell, Honorable Bishnu Kumari Sapkota will speak on behalf of the party,” Dahal announced.

Bhatt is currently receiving treatment inside the parliament building. “He is being treated at the National Assembly’s medical unit,” a source confirmed.
